This way, you as user get all the writing rights to files and folders.
Other solution is to install Joomla manually using FTP. It the past, FastCGI was slower and more CPU power consuming compare to Apache, but these days you will notice no difference, if the site is hosted on modern hardware. Easiest method is set PHP handler to FastCGI, is you are running your website on Apache webserver. There are several ways to gain writing rights. If you login in administrator, you login as user and not as root, so you have no writing rights to folders and files. Installing via Softaculous will give Apache webserver (root), all the rights. Is not, you have no writing rights to you Joomla files as administrator. All, except configuration.php should be writable. Hi Nicki, What do you mean with import content? In administrator (administrator/index.php?option=com_admin&view=sysinfo) Or System->System Information->Directory Permissions You can see the directory write permissions. I have done numerous deletes and reinstalls. I work directly online and not via a FTP server. I cannot import my content, I simply get the 500 error. I exported my template and imported it into Joomla. I have loaded Joomla 3.4 to my website via Softaculous. The rights are 755 on all files and folders (in the template) Any idea?
Hi, I have joomla 3.1.4, creating templates from Artisteer and counterspace, testing modifications to the templates, until at one time after installing the template, import the content by giving me the famous 500 error, I have it running under windows with uniformserver delete from the template directory, then I put the templates uninstall that failed for not being more folder, import the template again and want out of their content is error 500, someone could help me, please? First import works, second and so on fail. Just want to add my name to this issue so this thread gets another hit. Something to do with overwriting content indeed. I checked again in 1 minute and they where gone. I put a support request in for it.will post any solutions sent to me.Īlso i have noticed while testing this that it takes longer to uninstall all the articles and items then the button clicks This on second try failed again and i looked at the articles which where still there from the last import. Obviously not overwriting the old content.
later when I installed a template update the import failed with "Request failed: 500" response. I just did a clean install on J3.1.1 and the first import went fine. I agree that the problem is in the Import content stage. My Joomla folders are set at 755 and files at 644 but no difference. I have put a request in with Artiasteer so when it is solved I will let those know that may have a similar issue. Call stack # Function Location 1 JSite->dispatch() /home2/jadenco1/public_html/appropriatehealth/index.php:52 Hope someone has found the solution. Article not found Just one of the errors below. In debug mode the articles cannot be found, I have read to relink the home page but as it is generated within Artisteer I do not know where to find the article it created. I think the issue is at the import content stage? All was fine not long ago. When I look at the site live I now get 404 - Article not found! When I look at the menu's they are not published, publish them to no avail. Now every time I uploaded a template and imported the content all I get the error. I have been using Artisteer 4.1 and Joomla 3.0.1 and now have 3.1.1. I have read many posts on this issue and none seem to have found a real solution.
